Asian London experiences ~ part 1: Purikura ^o^

In the last week of May my friend Lau and I travelled to London for some sightseeing. Besides the typical tourist attractions like Tower Bridge, Big Ben and Picadilly Circus we also found some interesting asian cultural spots.

First of all you find a China Town in London City. It's not huge but nice. In one of the Chinese stores there is a Photo Sticker Club where you can make - of course - photo sticker from yourself. Speciality is that they have a real Japanese Purikura machine! Lau and I were quite excited about it, together we had to try it out on our first day^^

the purikura machine
This machine was pretty cool: Inside you have a double-stage bench which was very comfortable to pose for the photos; the machine gave us 8 backgrounds and before taking the photo it showed an idea how to pose. Four from the eight pics could be chosen than which would become larger on the photo sheet after printing. Some parts of the background and some accessoires were even glittering, that was awesome^o^

The variety of decoration was also quite good and we had much time to do it. The only disadvantage was that one sheet is quite expansive. It cost 13 pounds! More sheets would make each a bit cheaper but Lau and I decided to share^^'
But you can get a scan of the photos via Email of you like that was quite good^^

But besides the Japanese Purikura machine you find two other Photo Sticker Machines in the club. They are self-made but work similar to the Purikura. One was just for photos with blank background - so not so interesting for us - but the other one was also with different backgrounds and the possibility of decorating. Lau, Kirschu and I gave it a try^^

The Photo Sticker Machine
It had an amazing variety of backgrounds and even frames for the pictures! We were quite overwhelmed^^'
Besides funny comic backgrounds you could also choose f.e. film backgrounds, nature and other stuff.
The decoration was kind of hard to handle and you could mainly write something with different colour pens but because of the backgrounds and frames much more decoration wasn't necessary. So we were pretty satisfied with the outcome^__^
And these pictures were much cheaper: one sheet for 7 pounds and because each of us took one sheet it was only 13 pounds for the three sheets together. That was good^o^

So I can really recommend the Photo Sticker Club of London! If you Purikura, you should visit ;D
